scope

The project consists of construction of a new wet well configuration lift station adjacent to the existing Kirkwood Lift Station.  The new lift station requires an excavation extending 50-feet deep.  A beam and lag system will be installed to retain soils while 10,000-cy are excavated and removed from site.  The lift station will house three 350-hp submersible pumps which discharge through a 24” discharge header and forcemain.  Flow to the existing lift station is re-routed to the new station through two 30” gravity lines upwards to 35-ft deep.  After the new lift station is tested and brought on-line, the existing lift station pumps are demoed and the wet well is reconfigured into an emergency overflow tank.  Other improvements include a large concrete paved area designed to store emergency holding tanks, a pig launching station for forcemain cleaning, modifications to the existing electrical building and site landscaping improvements.
